At High Caliber Contracting, we enjoyed the unique challenge of undertaking a house moving project on lovely Thimble Island in Branford, Connecticut. Moving a house on an island is its own special challenge, but our seasoned crew was more than up to the task. The building had to be lifted and moved to a more secure, improved location on the same island, roughly 80 feet from its current position.
The initial step was to have the house safely lifted off its previous foundation. It was an island job, so we had limited space and challenging access, but we utilized our equipment and proceeded slowly to ensure everything went as planned. We then placed the building on our strong moving beams to get it ready for relocation.
The building was relocated 80 feet from one part of the island to another with great care. This helped the owner to better utilize their property and gave the building a solid base for years to come. It was a rewarding project to know we kept the building whole and standing for years to come.
