How Long Does House Lifting Take in CT?

When someone in Connecticut calls us about House Lifting, the first thing they usually ask is, “Okay… but how long is this going to take?” And that’s fair. It’s your home. At High Caliber Contracting here in Connecticut, we always tell people the same thing: every job is a little different, but we can give you a solid, honest timeline. Most house lifting projects take three to four weeks from start to finish. Weather, inspections, and the size of the house can change things a bit, but we try to stay on schedule as much as possible and keep you in the loop the entire time.

The first week is all about getting prepared. Before any Structural Lifting CT starts, we handle permits and make sure everything is approved. Then we prep the site. That means clearing all the space around the house, covering any areas we want to protect, and bringing in steel beams and heavy equipment. This part might not look exciting, but it’s important. If the prep isn’t done right, nothing else goes right. We take our time here because safety matters more than speed. We’ve been doing House Lifting in CT long enough to know that careful setup makes a big difference later.

Week two is when you really see things happen. This is when we start the actual lift. We slide steel beams under the home and set up hydraulic jacks. Then we slowly lift the house, inch by inch. It’s not fast and it’s not loud and crazy like people think. It’s controlled and steady. Once the house is at the right height, we secure it safely. After that, we start forming and pouring the new foundation. With most house-lifting jobs in CT, this part moves pretty quickly once the lift is complete.

The last stage usually takes another week or so. After we pour the concrete, it has to cure. There’s no rushing that. Strong foundations need time to set the right way. During this time, inspections are done to make sure everything meets Connecticut codes. Once we get approval, we carefully lower the home back down onto the new foundation. That final set-down is always a proud moment for us. With Structural Lifting CT done right, your home is stronger, safer, and ready for the years ahead. At High Caliber Contracting, we treat every House Lifting in CT project like it’s our own home on the line.
