Old vs New Homes For Structural Lifting In Connecticut

Older homes and newer homes do not always lift the same way. We see that all the time with House Lifting in CT. Some older houses have been repaired, added onto, or changed so many times that you never really know the full story until you start looking closely. Newer homes are usually easier to read, but they still need the right plan. At High Caliber Contracting, we look at every home on its own before we decide how the lift should go.

When working with old houses, the difficulty lies in the framing. This could range from old wood members to soft areas, to old repair work or even different construction from other parts of the home. That matters during Structural Lifting in Connecticut because the weight has to be carried the right way. We do not want to put pressure in the wrong spot. Before lifting, we take time to check how the house is built and where it needs support.

Newer homes can be different. A lot of them have cleaner framing, better records, and more even construction. It makes things easier to plan for, but it doesn’t simplify the whole task. Any house-lifting job in CT will always require beams, cribbing, hydraulics, and proper monitoring. Even a newer home can have tight access, utility issues, or foundation problems that change the plan.

Additions are another thing we watch for. What may seem as one entire construction from the outside is actually partly erected several years after the original house was built. It happens to porches, garages, sunrooms, and even the back parts of the house. During House Lifting in CT, those areas may need extra bracing or a different lift setup so everything moves together the right way.

At High Caliber Contracting, we do not treat every house the same. Older homes need patience and a sharp eye. Newer homes need careful planning, too. Good Structural Lifting in Connecticut comes down to knowing what you are lifting before you lift it. When the plan fits the house, the whole job has a much better chance of going smoothly from start to finish.
